What is SB24-113

Safer Youth Sports Law

SB24-113 was approved by Governor Polis on May 17, 2024. It sets the standards that all youth sports organizations must abide by moving forward including:

  • Requiring each coach to complete Mandatory Reporter Training annually
  • Each organization will have a prohibited conduct policy that each coach must comply with
  • Codes of Conducts for Coaches, Parents, Spectators and Athletes that list out prohibited conduct
  • All Coaches to complete a background check and sets guidelines for coaches
  • Posting of the Attorney Generals Notice on all youth sports organization websites
  • And More

Bobby Click, JD

Bobby brings extensive experience and a deep commitment to preventing abuse in sports and youth-serving organizations. A graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law, Bobby began his career as a civil and criminal litigator in the Southeast before transitioning into sport safety. He previously served as Vice President of Response and Resolution at the U.S. Center for SafeSport, overseeing misconduct reports within the Olympic Movement. His work in developing national policies and educational programs for abuse prevention has earned him widespread respect in the sports and youth-serving communities.

Matthew Stone

Matt has spent over 15 years in the sports industry and 10 in the State of Colorado, specifically in non-profit sports.
